In an increasingly fast-paced world used to large practices and mass production, encountering a concept like Comité de Proyectos is a way to pause, settle into the present, and value what already exists — something quietly transgressive in our times.
Comité de Proyectos is a studio dedicated to interior design and furniture, founded in 2014 by Andrea Flores and Lucía Soto. Their priority is to be personally involved in every project. Their essence is to intervene spaces while respecting their personality and highlighting what is already there.
What is your design process?
At Comité de Proyectos, we first understand the relationship between people and the spaces they inhabit — not as a single moment, but as a fuller picture of the dynamics of their home, office, or business — so we can generate tailored design proposals. From there we look for materials and objects that complement what's already there, that are functional, and that blend harmoniously with the needs and personalities of our clients' spaces.
What do you most enjoy about what you do?
We're clear that we love to create — we love to materialize emotions in space through objects. We also love making pieces that are timeless and durable but that, together, transmit warmth — generating welcoming spaces that nevertheless give off peace and tranquility. That's how we approach both bespoke projects and our own furniture line.
What did you enjoy about collaborating with Reurbano?
While we've worked on more than 250 residential and commercial interiors, with Reurbano there was an affinity in aesthetics and clientele. We also share the principle of respecting the personality of what's already there and intervening to enhance it. Reurbano renews these buildings without erasing their personality — quite the opposite. When we worked with you, that was the idea: how can we create spaces aligned with the building's aesthetic and concept; how do we make them stand out, livable, and at the same time inspiring? It was a wonderful experience.
