The Project

Córdoba 125 is a project that asks us to reflect on the value of heritage buildings and urban fabrics. Located in the heart of Mexico City’s Roma neighborhood, the old house was remodeled to function as a mixed-use development.
That brings together residential units of different sizes and typologies, and a commercial lot on the ground floor that invites pedestrians into the building. Designed by renowned architecture firm Cadaval & Solá Morales, the project maintained the entirety of the historic building intact. A patio marks the entrance to the historic building and is replicated at the back side of the project, functioning as a second entrance point. Two levels were added, increasing the project’s height and capacity. On the top floor, a series of terraces and added volumes create small towers. Córdoba 125 was awarded a silver medal in the XV Mexican Architecture Biennial.
