CASA DONDÉ 7
COL. CENTRO

The Project

In Mexico City’s Centro Histórico — one of the city’s most culturally significant neighborhoods — a heritage building constructed in 1860 was fully restored, paving way for a new chapter in its rich history and contributing to the area’s promising process of urban reactivation.
The building, once a single-family home featuring two levels and three interior patios, was brimming with potential for residential and commercial development. In order to avoid altering the building’s view from street level, an annex designed by TK ARCHITECTS was located in the back of the site. 30 residential units, 13 commercial lots, and 11 office spaces now make up Casa Dondé, a mixed-use development surrounded by monuments, such as Bucareli street’s Reloj Chino, and public spaces like the Biblioteca de México and Plaza de la Ciudadela.
